Our Mission
Our mission is to make clean cooking accessible to every household in Uganda. We aim to support the Government of Uganda’s national goals to reduce deforestation and health issues associated with traditional cooking methods by providing affordable, efficient, and sustainable cooking solutions.
Why Clean Cooking?
In Uganda, over 90% of households rely on biomass—such as wood, charcoal, and crop residue—as their primary cooking fuel. This dependence has significant health, environmental, and economic implications. According to recent studies, indoor air pollution from traditional stoves is responsible for thousands of premature deaths annually, predominantly among women and children. Furthermore, the unsustainable harvesting of wood for fuel contributes to deforestation and loss of biodiversity.
Recognizing these challenges, UNACC, in alignment with the Government of Uganda and supported by our development partners, is committed to promoting clean cooking technologies that are both environmentally friendly and energy-efficient.
